Evening Telegraph - 27/2/01 Although hampered by the recent outbreak of snow, the Dundee Sharks Basketball Clubs Central Venue Super League was a huge success. The league, which is run in partnership with Dundee City Councils Leisure & Parks Department, involved four under 14 teams and five under 16 teams.

The teams were slightly depleted in numbers but still managed to compete at a structured and fun level. In the under 14 League the Great White and Blue Sharks proved to be the strongest, comfortably beating the Reef & Nipper Sharks

In the under 16 League the Hammerheads are proving to be the strongest team playing well organised fast break basketball. The other teams are not far behind though and a lot can happen in the months to come.

Although the Leagues are run to provide the players with competitive, structured basketball, the main aim at the end is they are fun to play in.

Paul Boath a coach of the Dundee Sharks said, “all the players were in great spirits and this created a fun and exciting atmosphere, which enhanced the play even more”.
